This is a really good article. I especially appreciate your pointing out the oh-so-true fact that elites (including myself) fell into the illusion that once people SAW how crazy and reckless Trump is, they would surely, certainly! fall away from supporting him. I have learned so much.
I've grown particularly interested in how the US economy will finally land. AI and $$$ tech are creating an infinitely booming stock market while the common man's dollars can cover less and less and less of their expenses, AND all social safety nets are being pulled away. When do these two things clash?
Why dorsn't anyone acknowledge Trump won because he had Musk and Zuckerberg in his pocket? Nobody ever admits how the "tech bros" BOUGHT this election. They wanted Trump because he has NO MORALS. They want zero regation of technology so they can be outrageously rich. Whoever has the money, rules the world. They can buy anyone and anything. And we've already seen how fast and how easy other BILLIONAIRES crumble when threatened. Trump has successfully EXTORTED everyone, in plain sight. Trump doesn't care about ending pediatric cancer research. HE DOESN'T CARE! He has zero empathy, zero moral compass, he's a MALIGNANT SOCIOPATHIC NARCISSISTIC CON MAN. All he cares about is HIM. Just kiss his A... SS and you get a pardon. His favorite people are CRIMINALS cuz he is one of them! Screw the hardworking, law-abiding citizens! Now, the CORRUPTION is in plain sight for all to see. And what are u gonna do about it? Trump destroyed the White House after he swore he wouldn't touch a single wall. And they believed him??? He already accepted a BRIBE JET and stuck Americans with the $1 BILLUON it'll cost to never zse it. ZERO ROI FOR US. Same w Argentina, a 9x bajrupt country of old Nazis. His pals! Again, ZERO ROI FOR US! Now, he's giving himself $230 Million from DoJ. It's not enough that he committed the crimes. Now, tax payers have to PAY HIM... for what? His inconvenience? Why not throw the doors wide open at Fort Knox and let Trump back up a truck and hawl it ALL away? It's MASSIVE NEVER-ENDING CORRUPTION IN A LOOP. ALL SELF-DEALING. Trump acts like he'll never need to "earn" a vote again... Republicans in Congress are feckless, spineless, and DO NOTHING WHILE COLLECTING A PAYCHECK. Have they corrupted elections so much that there's no way for them to lose? Is something going on here that we, The People, don't know about? At this point, Trump has done more for foreigners than for Americans! We would be way better off had we kept undocumented workers and done NOTHING AT ALL!!!
I fall into the category of person you describe and can’t stand trump. Can’t understand how anyone could possibly support anything with regards to anything he’s been doing or not done.
So while I agree with much of what you’ve written and thoroughly appreciate the depth you’ve put into this piece. Your theory doesn’t really work, there’s something else going on.
An interesting critique. Trump is president because of COVID, supply chain inflation. People across the world hated inflation and voted out everyone in power who was in office during the inflationary period. The Democrats lost their ‘incumbent’ which mattered enormously. The incumbent ALWAYS has a statistical advantage. People in power close the Biden did not tell him that he must not run again. I understand how that happened. But that was another enormous mistake. The next enormous mistake was selecting a woman, a black woman, who was not vetted by the primary system AT ALL. Democrats had absolutely no choice but to support Harris. There is a section of the USA that is never going to vote for a woman. There is an even larger group that will NEVER vote for a black person.
Put it all together with the understanding that the winner in a close national election is selected by the disengaged and disinterested and Trump gets 49% and the wins the repulsive electoral college and there you have it. That’s what happened.
